As a child I remember many visit to the Cincinnati Museum Center and taking part in museum center educational programs. Now as an adult I am a presenter for these programs and I realize how much they actually can mean to the children. Whether its taking visitors on a tour of the cave, showing guests a live animal an telling them how it lives or explaining the rotunda mosaic guests leave the museum with a renewed appriciation and intrest in learning and are remined that it can be fun. I’ve worked in various areas of the museum for eleven years and am still always excited when I have the opportunity to make history and science fun and educational for both children and adults.
Knowing that some of the children I teach today will remember the experience fondly as adults gives me a sense of pride and motivates me to continue learning myself, to be the best I can. I hope that as a museum educater I am able to create the same kinds of memories that I had as a child. This is wht I strive for, and this is why I’ll always remember the times I’ve had at the Union Terminal.
